CTOnews.com, March 9 (Xinhua)-- according to THEELEC, the OLED iPad that Apple plans to release next year will cost 60% more than the current iPad price. The 11-inch version sells for about $1500 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 10440 yuan) and the 13-inch version sells for about $1800 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 12528 yuan).

According to the previous news, the iPad with OLED panel will adopt a variety of new processes, such as dual-stack series (Two Stack Tandem light emitting layer for two layers) structure, low temperature polyoxide (LTPO) thin film transistor (TFT hybrid), OLED structure (glass substrate + thin film package), and so on, in which case the increase in panel supply price is inevitable. However, both LG Display and Samsung monitors are still developing OLED panels for iPad, and the final panel pricing is uncertain.

Currently, LG Display is developing 11-inch and 13-inch iPad OLED models, while Samsung displays are only for 11-inch models. According to the future demand of Apple, LG Display and Samsung display may make some business adjustments. It is worth mentioning that in a recent evaluation conducted by Apple, neither of the two panel makers provided performance to Apple's satisfaction.
