Alpha 7 IV Ver 2.0 firmware update:

1. Added support for Creators' App applications.

2. Add the function of improving security when connecting Creators' App or Imaging Edge Desktop for remote shooting or image transmission.

The Sony A7M4 camera, released in October 2021, uses the newly developed 3300 megapixel full-frame backlit Exmor R CMOS image sensor and enables a wide photosensitive range that can be extended to ISO 50-204800, with a 15-level dynamic range at low sensitivity and a wider light and shadow layer.

In addition, the A7M4 camera uses the same BIONZ XR image processor as the flagship microphone Alpha 1, which can track and calculate AF / AE when shooting at a high speed of 10 shots per second, and the in-machine large buffer provides users with a smooth shooting experience. Using a focal plane phase detection and focus system covering about 94% of the imaging range, excellent real-time tracking performance is achieved through 759 phase detection. The real-time eye focusing function also enables real-time eye tracking of birds and animals when taking photos and videos for the first time.

Upgrade considerations for Ver.1.01 or earlier:

* if the camera firmware is Ver.1.01 or earlier, you need to upgrade to Ver.1.05 before upgrading Ver.2.00. If you upgrade directly to Ver.2.00, the upgrade will not proceed smoothly.

* Please confirm the firmware version of the camera: press [Menu] key-> [Settings]-> [setting options]-> [version]. After the firmware upgrade, the camera can no longer connect to the Imaging Edge Mobile. Install and use Creators' App after firmware upgrade. Before pairing the camera with the Creators' App, make sure that the Imaging Edge Mobile is the latest version (Ver.7.7.2 or later).

The new app, Creators' App, replaces Imaging Edge Mobile and is a free app for smartphones (Android smartphones / tablets or iPhone / iPad). After installing the program on the smartphone, you can establish a Wi-Fi connection with the applicable Sony products, and use the functions of remote control, image transmission, automatic background transmission to the smartphone, multi-camera control, location information association and so on.

* if you have already installed Imaging Edge Mobile, please update Imaging Edge Mobile to the latest version before updating the alpha 7 IV software.

* if you are using iPhone / iPad, please shut down and restart your iPhone / iPad after the camera firmware update, and then pair the camera with Creators' App.

* if you use a wireless Bluetooth camera handle / remote control (GPVPT2BT,RMT-P1BT), please remove it from the camera menu "Bluetooth" option and re-pair it.
