CTOnews.com, March 9, according to the latest weak password research report released by Specops Software, after analyzing 800 million passwords that have been cracked and leaked on the network, it is found that 88% of the passwords are no more than 12 characters, and the most common ones are only 8 characters (24%).

CTOnews.com learned from the report that the easiest passwords to crack include "password", "admin", "welcome" and "p@ssw0rd".

"this shows that while organizations are working together to follow password best practices and industry standards, more needs to be done to ensure password security and uniqueness," said Darren James, product manager at Specops Software. "with the complexity of modern password attacks, additional security measures are always needed to protect access to sensitive data."
