Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen Xiao Zhan for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com, March 8 (Xinhua)-- China Unicom and Huawei have recently completed an experiment on downlink 10Gbps peak rate technology based on 5G-Advanced technology, marking the official step of 5G-Advaned technological innovation into the 10-gigabit era.

This technical experiment verifies the ability of large-bandwidth technology to achieve a single-user rate experience that exceeds that of 10Gbps in a typical wireless environment, which is one of the key achievements of Zhiji New Horizon Racetrack. Immersive interactive services such as XR and holography will help to achieve a communication experience that feels like being together no matter how far away from the ends of the earth.

5G-Advanced has entered the stage of industrial acceleration and commercial preparation. China Unicom said that it will continue to innovate around the three major innovation tracks, and make preparations for joint industrial partners from the aspects of standard formulation, product definition, industrial ecology, application coordination, and in-depth coordination to create a 5G-Advanced network of enabling meta-universe, intelligent car couplings, various industries and synaesthesia.

Figure: laboratory tests show that the downlink peak rate reaches 10Gbps. According to CTOnews.com, 5G-Advanced is an evolved version of 5G. Last year, the R17 standard was frozen and the R18 standard was established. This year will be the year of accelerated launch of 5G-Advanced. Compared with the first phase of 5G, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has further enhanced and expanded 5G-Advanced on the basis of the three standard scenarios eMBB, mMTC and uRLLC defined by 5G, adding three new scenarios-UCBC (uplink Ultra Wideband), RTBC (Broadband Real-time interaction) and HCS (Communication perception Fusion). 5G-Advanced can greatly enrich 5G industry space and better meet the real needs of digital economy and industrial digital transformation.
