CTOnews.com March 8 news, CTOnews.com learned from the official website of the Federation of passengers, today the Federation released an analysis of the national passenger car market in February 2023, and the retail sales of the passenger car market reached 1.39 million in February 2023, an increase of 10.4 percent over the same period last year and 7.5 percent from the previous year.

According to the statistics of the Federation, the export of passenger vehicles (including complete vehicles and CKD) in February was 250000, an increase of 89% over the same period last year and 8% month-on-month growth. From January to February, the export of passenger cars was 488000, an increase of 61% over the same period last year. New energy vehicles accounted for 31% of total exports in February.

Manufacturers sold 1.618 million vehicles wholesale in February, up 10.2% from the same month last year and 11.7% from the previous month. In February, wholesale sales of new energy passenger vehicles reached 496000, an increase of 56.1% over the same period last year and 27.5% month-on-month growth. The number of manufacturers whose wholesale sales exceeded 10,000 vehicles rebounded to 10 (up 3 from the previous month and 5 from the same period last year), accounting for 83% of the total number of new energy passenger vehicles. Among them: 191664 BYD cars, 74402 Tesla China, 30086 GAC EAN, 23289 SAIC passenger cars, 23283 Geely cars, 19382 Changan vehicles, 16620 ideal cars, 12,157 Lai cars, 10,982 SAIC GM Wuling and 10073 Nezha cars.

In January this year, the change of subsidy policy brought about a large decline in new energy sales, and in February, the new energy vehicle market gradually adjusted in place. In February, domestic retail sales of new energy passenger vehicles reached 439000, an increase of 61.0% over the same period last year and 32.8% month-on-month growth. In the first two months of this year, retail sales of new energy passenger cars reached 770000, an increase of 22.8 per cent over the same period last year.

The domestic retail penetration rate of new energy vehicles in February was 31.6%, up 10 percentage points from 21.7% in February 2021.
