CTOnews.com news on March 8, data from the reporting Center of the Central Internet Information Office showed that in February 2023, the country accepted 14.599 million reports of illegal and bad information on the Internet.

The reporting center of the Central Internet Information Office said that in February 2023, the reporting center of the Central Internet Information Office directed the national online letter reporting departments at all levels and the main website platforms to accept 14.599 million pieces of illegal and bad information such as pornography, gambling, infringement and rumors, an increase of 10.4 percent from the previous month and 18.4 percent from the same period last year.

Of these, the reporting center of the Central Cyber Information Office accepted 574000 reports, down 0.7 percent from the previous month and an increase of 81.1 percent over the same period last year; 625000 reports were accepted by local online reporting departments, down 6.1 percent from the previous month and 17.7 percent from the same period last year; and 13.399 million reports were accepted by major websites nationwide, up 11.9 percent from the previous month and 19.0 percent from the same period last year.

CTOnews.com learned from the data released by the reporting Center of the Central Internet Information Office that among the reports accepted by the major website platforms across the country, the number of reports accepted by the major commercial website platforms accounted for 46.6%, reaching 6.246 million.
