CTOnews.com, March 8, according to a list published by the US Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO), Apple yesterday obtained 41 technology patents, many of which are related to the Project Titan car project.

A lighting system for driving at night is described in one of the patents. Apple said in the patent that the effective range of existing self-driving cars for detecting and classifying objects is about 60 meters, and Apple hopes to expand the detection range to 200 meters by introducing a number of sensors such as near-infrared.

In its patent, Apple outlines a computer vision system for self-driving cars that can accurately identify all kinds of objects within a range of 200 meters. CTOnews.com also learned from the patent description that the patent specifically refers to the efficient classification of objects in the road ahead in a low-light environment, thereby improving the safety of self-driving vehicles and increasing the speed of self-driving cars at night.
