The patent focuses on "short-wave infrared" technology, with related components located below or integrated into the screen.

The patent mainly introduces the optical imaging system applied to the screen Touch ID. By using short-wave infrared wave technology, flood illumination will be generated when the user presses his finger on the screen, and the elements below the screen can receive and quantify the reflection caused by flood illumination in the short-wave infrared band to realize the function of fingerprint recognition under the screen.

CTOnews.com learned from the patent description that the optical imaging system can not only identify the user's fingerprint information, but also detect the user's blood oxygen, pulse, determine whether the user is wearing gloves, determine whether the user's fingers are wet or dry, and so on.
