Panasonic said it aims to sell a total of 100000 units after three to four years and will introduce a Recurring (continuous charging) mechanism to turn it into a business that can generate stable profits.

According to reports, the NICOBO is a spherical robot with a round shape, wrapped in a knitted "sweater" (pink, gray and navy blue optional), about 20cm long, heavy 1.5kg, can not walk independently, built-in camera, face recognition, and equipped with a microphone for voice recognition.

It has big eyes that make people feel cute, squint when they are happy, and close when they sleep. Although can not answer the question, but will repeat like a parrot, bring the feeling of intimate.

The robot, which can spin and wag its tail in place, can speak short Japanese or sleep talk, and can fart, claiming to give users a sense of healing. In addition, if you want to use it to record users' facial information and conversations, you need to spend 1100 yen (56 yuan) a month to open a cloud service.

Although NICOBO is called a household robot, it is not the AI high-tech robot that people imagine. Panasonic says the concept it uses is not to use artificial intelligence (AI) to help humans, but to use its "imperfections" to arouse smiles and tenderness from people around it.

At a press conference yesterday, Yoichiro Masada, a developer led by Panasonic Entertainment Interactive, described NICOBO as "a weak being that makes people want to help", "hoping to make people live with robots a daily phenomenon" and "hoping to make people who are usually too busy to smile".
