CTOnews.com March 8, the reMarkable 2 is an E-Ink e-paper tablet with a 10.3-inch ink display, a pressure-sensitive pen with tilt detection and a high-friction tip that provides a paper-like reading and writing experience. The tablet sells for $299 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 2081 yuan).

Handwriting is suitable for taking notes quickly, annotating documents or drawing pictures, but it is not as efficient as keyboard typing. ReMarkable has released a new Type Folio keyboard, which is now available as an optional $199 accessory (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 1385 yuan).

The keyboard transforms e-paper tablets originally designed for reading, handwriting and drawing into portable typing devices that users can easily use to write longer documents and gain a focused writing experience. The reMarkable 2 + Type Folio keyboard forms a two-in-one tablet design that provides a more generic experience.

In addition, reMarkable's stylus "marker" is sold separately and costs an extra $79 (CTOnews.com Note: about RMB550) to $129 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about RMB898) to get the full tablet + keyboard + stylus experience.

The Type Folio keyboard is magnetically connected to the reMarkable 2 tablet and can be adjusted in two positions: "traditional typing position" or "almost flat position". You can easily stop typing, pick up your stylus, and start taking notes without adjusting the keyboard position.

The accessory does not have any batteries and does not need to be recharged or wirelessly paired with the tablet. Type Folio works as soon as it connects.

The keyboard has a 1.3 mm keypad, supports six language layouts (US-English, UK-English, German, Spanish, French and Nordic) and offers "black" and "tan" color options.

The keyboard has an artificial leather appearance and the Type Folio keyboard measures 246x198x6.6mm (9.7in x 7.8in x 0.3in) and weighs 453g.

The reMarkable 2 tablet has a 10.3in, 1872 x 1404 pixel E Ink Carta display that supports multi-point capacitive touch input, a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 1GB LDDR3 memory, 8GB storage and a custom Linux-based operating system.
