CTOnews.com March 8 news, Pirate ship and Micron Invida have launched high-density DDR5 memory modules with the capacity of 24GB and 48GB. At present, although Intel Alder Lake, Raptor Lake and AMD Ryzen 7000 Zen 4 processors officially support only 128GB memory, 192GB is not completely impossible, mainly depending on the motherboard.

At present, however, it seems that only Intel platforms can use the new memory. For example, ASRock and Asustek have released special firmware to support the new features. In addition, MSI and gigabyte claim that their 600th and 700th series motherboards are compatible with 24GB and 48GB DDR5 DIMM memory modules without updating.

Some geeks have found that although the AMD platform has not yet released a firmware update, it may also be possible to install and use this memory with the right optimization. At least at present, the Asustek B650E platform can recognize the DDR5-5600 48GB (2x24GB) memory, but cannot enter the system (only boot up) due to the lack of necessary BIOS boot support. This indicates that the AMD AGESA firmware already supports 24GB and 48GB DDR5 memory modules, but the motherboard manufacturer is still required to adapt to the new BIOS.

It is worth mentioning that the pirate ship also launched a new VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 and VENGEANCE DDR5 series of high-speed 7000MT / s memory strips yesterday, offering 48 GB (2x 24 GB) memory kits.

In fact, the pirate ship launched 24 GB and 48GB memory as early as February 22, with options of DDR5- 5200 and DDR5- 5600, while the DDR5- 7000 launched this time has a stronger high-frequency model with a timing sequence of 40-52-52-114V and supports Intel XMP 7000 overclocking.

In terms of pricing, VENGEANCE RGB series DDR5-7000 24GB*2 strips sell for $285 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 1978 yuan) and non-RGB versions sell for $275 (currently about 1909 yuan).
