Tesla CEO Elon Musk said Tuesday that the next generation of small cars the company is developing will operate primarily in autonomous driving mode, similar to his promise in 2020.

Musk said Tuesday that there is a clear path for Tesla to deliver a car that costs half as much as the Model 3 sedan, but he did not provide details about the timing or model.

At the 2020 event, he said he was "convinced" Tesla would produce a small, fully autonomous electric car for $25,000 in about three years.

In addition, he said, Twitter may achieve cash flow break-even in the second quarter, and may even achieve positive cash flow. Musk said Tuesday at a Morgan Stanley conference in San Francisco that Twitter has been working to make its ads more relevant. He stressed that Twitter's debt burden after the $44 billion acquisition was completed was quite high, with annual debt service costs of about $1.5 billion, about the same as the current rate of burning money.

As part of its investigation into Twitter, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has asked Twitter to submit details of internal communications, layoffs and other business decisions related to its boss Musk. Since Musk took over Twitter last October, the FTC has sent 12 letters to Twitter and its lawyers asking the company to "identify all journalists granted access to company records" and provide information about publishing an improved Twitter Blue subscription service.
