CTOnews.com March 7, according to a South Korean Naver blog news aggregation account "yeux1122" quoted an industry source, Apple's standard iPhone 15 will not be equipped with LTPO display, meaning the machine does not support ProMotion adaptive refresh rate and all-weather display function.

Last year's iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max used newer low-power display backlight technology to support ProMotion refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz. The refresh rate of the display screen is adjusted according to the content displayed on the screen, static content uses a lower refresh rate, and dynamic content such as games and videos use a higher refresh rate to provide a smoother experience.

Industry insiders say that, as last year, only Pro models in the iPhone 15 series will be equipped with the LTPO panels needed to support ProMotion, suggesting that the feature will still be unique to Apple's high-end models.

If the message is accurate, it also means that the round-the-clock display function will remain the exclusive feature of the Pro model, because only the new LTPO panel supports the 1Hz refresh rate, which is the basis of the round-the-clock display function.

CTOnews.com noted that display analyst Ross Young gave a similar revelation in September 2022, when he said that the iPhone 15 series was expected to fully support Mobile Island, but production constraints made it impossible for all iPhone 15 to adopt LPTO panels.
