CTOnews.com, March 7 (Xinhua)-- NASA (NASA) shared a photo taken on March 3, 2023, showing the sun emitting a strong Class X flare. This photo was taken by the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO).

Solar flares, coronal mass ejections and radiation storms are the three main forms of solar burst activity, in which solar flares refer to violent eruptions of solar electromagnetic radiation, which usually last for several hours. According to the outbreak scale, flares can be divided into five levels A, B, C, M and X from weak to strong, and each level can be divided into 10 levels.

CTOnews.com learned from NASA pages that the flare released on March 3 was classified as X2.1, temporarily weakening high-frequency radio communications on the sunlit side of the earth. The disturbance peaked at 06:52 Beijing time on March 4.
