CTOnews.com, March 7, CTOnews.com learned from the website of the Ministry of Natural Resources that in order to strengthen the top-level design of the standard specification for the basic map of intelligent vehicles and promote the safe application of geographic information in the self-driving industry, the Ministry of Natural Resources organized and compiled the Guide for the Construction of the Standard system of basic Map for Intelligent vehicles (2023 Edition) (hereinafter referred to as the Construction Guide).

The Construction Guide proposes that by 2025, the basic map standard system of intelligent vehicles which can support the application of automobile driving automation will be initially constructed. In order to solve the urgent need of the deep application of intelligent vehicle basic map, we should first formulate more than 10 key standards of intelligent vehicle basic map, including basic general purpose, data acquisition, dynamic update, data distribution, exchange format, and a variety of intelligent end-to-side related data security protection and other technical requirements.

By 2030, a relatively perfect basic map standard system of intelligent vehicles will be formed. To formulate more than 20 standards for intelligent vehicle basic maps, covering technical requirements and norms such as data production, application services, quality inspection and map review, to guide and promote the safety and compliance application of smart vehicle basic maps in China, and to provide standard support for technological development and industrial landing in related industries of intelligent vehicle basic maps such as intelligent vehicles, intelligent transportation, safe travel and new intelligent cities in China.
