Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com March 7 news, recently, we often hear rumors about the new MacBook Air, but some of its details are still unclear. 9to5Mac now has some evidence that Apple is indeed developing two different sizes of new MacBook Air:13 inches and 15 inches.
Not only that, the company is said to be planning to launch a newer 13-inch MacBook Pro model. So what do these laptops have in common? The latest intelligence indicates that they will all be equipped with brand-new M3 chips.
As shown in the figure below, Apple's current MacBook Air can choose M1 or M2 chips with 13.3in and 13.6in screens, respectively. The new M2 model uses a "bangs" design, priced from 9499 yuan, and does not rule out the possibility that new opportunities will be more expensive.
Earlier, Bloomberg Mark Gurman reported that an update to the MacBook Air was "imminent" and that at least one new model would be equipped with an M3 chip.
According to 9to5Mac, the new 13-inch MacBook Air (code name J513) confirms the use of the M3 chip, which will be released with the new 15-inch model (code name J515), and the large screen model will also be equipped with the M3 chip.
Apple analyst Guo Mingyi has previously said that Apple may release a 15-inch MacBook Air "in early April." According to 9to5Mac sources, the 15-inch model will use the same entry-level M3 chip as the new 13-inch MacBook Air. The chip will provide an 8-core CPU, just like M1 and M2.
Unfortunately, there is no evidence that the new MacBook Air will offer M3 Pro derivative chips, but these are not the only new phones Apple is currently working on.
According to 9to5Mac sources, Apple also plans to launch a new 13-inch MacBook Pro, and the new entry-level MacBook Pro, code-named J504, will also use the same 8-core M3 chip as the MacBook Air.
It is not clear when Apple will launch these new Mac, but considering that the M3 chip will be based on the latest TSMC 3nm, which is more expensive and cannot guarantee high production, we think these M3 chip-based models may not be available until the second half of this year.
But it wouldn't be surprising to think that the M2 chip was released with the new MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro on WWDC 2022, so it wouldn't be surprising if Apple chose to launch a new phone on the WWDC this year. Follow-up CTOnews.com will bring you more reports, please look forward to it.
