Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, March 6 (Xinhua)-- according to insideevs, Tesla recently launched a discount on inventory models (or models to be shipped from China) in the European market, involving Model 3 and Model Y electric vehicles. It is reported that the prices of these models can enjoy a discount of up to 6-7% compared with the price of new orders.

Prior to this, Tesla has lowered the official prices of Model 3 and Model Y in the United States, Canada, China and other markets. In the European market, Tesla has also adjusted prices many times to cope with supply chain problems and exchange rate fluctuations.

At present, there is no report on whether Tesla's flagship models Model S and Model X have similar offers in the European market. This may be because the two models have just launched new versions, and there are still many customers waiting to be delivered in Europe.

According to data analysis by Troy Teslike, a Tesla enthusiast, if consumers choose to buy Tesla's inventory car (driving mileage of no more than 50 miles, about 80.47km), they can save thousands of euros or pounds.

So why did Tesla cut prices sharply in the European market? According to CTOnews.com, the answer seems to have something to do with the imbalance between supply and demand. On the one hand, Tesla's supply in the European market increased due to increased production capacity from Chinese and German factories; on the other hand, Tesla's orders in the European market decreased due to various reasons (such as seasonality, competition, epidemic, etc.).

Troy Teslike also provides a way to estimate the backlog of orders: according to January 15 data, Tesla has about 30246 outstanding orders in the European market (the average waiting time is 35 days), while by February 15, there are only about 17500 outstanding orders (the average waiting time is 22 days). In other words, in the past month, supply has exceeded demand.

If this happens, manufacturers are at risk of overstocking. Some manufacturers may choose to boost sales by cutting prices. Maybe we will see Tesla reduce the price of new order again in the near future.
