The latest preview of Windows 11, build 25309, brings a new set of theme-aware icons to make widgets more beautiful and more visible.

The overall design of the icons remains the same, but now they use slightly different tones and colors and have better contrast on dark and light backgrounds. Microsoft says higher contrast and new tones make the message clearer, especially for users with poor eyesight. You can see the difference between the two sets of icons in the screenshot below:

Microsoft updates Windows 11 widgets with so-called Windows Web experience packs from the Microsoft Store, allowing new features to be added to all Windows 11 versions. Therefore, you can expect that after Microsoft completes testing in Dev Channel, the updated weather icon will appear on Windows 11 22H2 and 21H2.

According to CTOnews.com, in addition to making the taskbar easier to read, Windows 11 build 25309 extends automatic color management to more users, displays better colors on 10-16-bit displays, and even improves image quality on low-profile displays with 8-bit panels.
