CTOnews.com March 6 news, according to Yonhap news agency reported that on March 6, industry sources revealed that Google and Meta have filed a lawsuit against South Korea's data protection regulator's fine ruling.

In September last year, the Korea Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC) fined Google and Meta total of 100 billion won (CTOnews.com note: currently about 531 million yuan) for collecting personal information without user consent and using it for personalized online advertising and other purposes.

Among them, PIPC fined Google 69.2 billion won (about 347 million yuan) and Meta 30.8 billion won (about 155 million yuan). Google and Meta objected to the decision at the time, saying the company placed a high value on legal compliance and a commitment to user control and transparency.
