Nokia said Habrok, named after a condor in Nordic mythology, uses Nokia's latest generation of ReefShark system on Chip (SoC), the latest generation of AirScale massive MIMO platform for all mobile operators and enterprise networks. Habrok is available in both 32 TRX (Habrok 32) and 64 TRX (Habrok 64) versions, covering all mMIMO use cases and deployment scenarios.

Both Habrok 32 and Habrok 64 support 200 MHz bandwidth usage (OBW) and 400 MHz instantaneous bandwidth (IBW) to better cover the needs of network sharing scenarios using discrete spectrum. The Habrok 64 weighs only 24kg, about 30 per cent lighter than the previous generation.

In addition, compared with the previous generation, the high output power provided by the Habrok not only increases the coverage, but also reduces energy consumption by 30% with Nokia's latest Reefshark chip and the latest energy-saving design, thereby reducing the total cost of ownership. Estimates show that a single 5G base station built with the latest Habrok 64 can help customers reduce CO2 emissions by up to 7700 tons per year compared to the previous generation, equivalent to the annual carbon reduction contribution of more than 2800 trees.

Habrok 32 and Habrok 64 are both Airscale platform products, which also support uplink and downlink coverage enhancement and interference suppression technologies to effectively enhance edge coverage 6~9dB, which is claimed to greatly improve the overall spectrum efficiency of the cell.

Habrok, Nokia's latest AirScale massive MIMO platform, will be available at the end of 2023.
