Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen Xiao Zhan cut, Feng Jianhui a clue delivery! CTOnews.com March 5 news, public and business consulting firm Guidehouse Insights will conduct an annual competitiveness analysis of global autonomous driving technology companies. The company recently released its latest report, evaluating 16 companies developing L4 autonomous driving systems for light to medium vehicles and dividing them into four tiers: leaders, competitors, challengers and followers.

The report rated each company's execution and strategic capabilities based on 10 criteria, such as the company's vision, market strategy, partnerships, technology maturity, product capabilities, etc.

Mobileye, Waymo, Baidu, and Cruise were among the top four, considered leaders in autonomous driving, performing well in both execution and strategy. Mobileye dominates the vision-based ADAS market;Waymo has a wealth of test data and experience; Baidu has a strong presence and network in the Chinese market;Cruise is backed by giants such as General Motors.

Motional (founded by Hyundai Motor and Amberford), Nvidia, Aurora Innovation, WeRide, Zoox, Gatik (a California-based startup), Nuro, AutoX were rated as competitors, and they have advantages or potential in some aspects, but they still need to further improve their competitiveness.

Autonomous A2Z (South Korean self-driving start-up), May Mobility (US start-up, Toyota Investment) and Pony AI were rated as challengers, and they still have much room for improvement in scale or technology.

CTOnews.com notes that Tesla is at the bottom of the list with a score of only 28 points and is the only follower on the list. The report points out that Tesla relies too much on its "fully autonomous driving" software package and doesn't really implement L4-level autonomous driving. Tesla also lacks the willingness to cooperate with other industry players or regulators. In Guidehouse's 2020 and 2021 ratings, Tesla ranked bottom for similar reasons.
