March 5 news, according to foreign media reports, AMD disclosed in its filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that their revenue and net profit increased sharply last year, and their expenditure also increased significantly, including a big increase in R & D expenditure compared with the same period last year.

AMD filings show that their R & D spending in 2022 was $5.005 billion, an increase of $2.16 billion from $2.845 billion in the year ended December 25, 2021, and a year-on-year increase of 75.92 per cent.

In addition to R & D spending, AMD's spending on marketing, general and administration also rose sharply last year from $1.448 billion in the previous year to $2.336 billion, an increase of $888 million, or 61.33 per cent. In addition, they had $2.1 billion in amortization of intangible assets related to acquisitions last year.

In addition, AMD disclosed in its filing that it had nearly 25000 employees worldwide at the end of last year, compared with 15500 at the end of the previous year, an increase of about 9500.

AMD's staff and expenses increased significantly last year, which has a lot to do with the acquisition of Cyrus. They announced an all-share acquisition of Cyrins in October of 2020, valued at $35 billion, and they announced the completion of the deal on February 14 last year.

When the final acquisition agreement with Cyrus was announced in 2020, AMD disclosed that the acquisition would expand its product portfolio and customer base, acquire a large number of talents, increase its engineer team to 13000, and increase annual R & D spending.

Although spending on R & D and other aspects has increased, AMD's revenue also increased significantly last year. They had revenues of $23.601 billion last year, up from $16.434 billion the previous year, and gross profits of $10.603 billion, up from $7.929 billion in 2021, according to filings.
