CTOnews.com, March 5, according to a notice issued by Douyin this week, the platform has recently been concerned that a very small number of users have posted false information about "pretending to be poor students" to defraud profits. In response, the platform has blocked relevant accounts and severely cracked down on violations of laws and regulations in the "live fraud underground industry".

CTOnews.com learned from the official Douyin that since September 2022, Douyin has blocked 11005 accounts suspected of fraud, maliciously induced consumption, gambling and other activities. Since 2021, Douyin Live has worked with public security departments across the country to crack seven cases related to underground industries and arrest more than 60 suspects.

According to the announcement, Douyin LVB will continue to deal with the following violations:

Prohibit fraud: it is strictly forbidden to defraud users of consumption by means of false promises, fabricating facts, or concealing the truth, including, but not limited to: promising consumption to obtain high-value gifts / services, promises several times rebate, deducting scripts through false identities to gain emotional trust of others, or fraudulently obtaining consumption by falsely using other people's identities, setting up accounts, and so on.

Prohibition of gambling: all gambling activities are strictly prohibited, including, but not limited to, inducing users to place bets on uncertain games by promising high-value products, services or cash in return.

Prohibit minors' consumption and induce minors' consumption: it is strictly forbidden for minors under the age of 18 to conduct live broadcast consumption, and it is forbidden for any anchor to deceive or induce underage recharge consumption in any form during the live broadcast process.

Offline emotional deception is prohibited: it is strictly forbidden to deceive users' consumption by promising to meet offline and promise to develop romantic relationships.

Data fraud is prohibited: it is strictly forbidden to fabricate or tamper with data such as popularity and likes in live broadcasts by any means, and strictly control illegal activities such as control and evaluation, list brushing, traffic fraud and so on.

Douyin said that Douyin Live will immediately launch a special campaign to deal with "live broadcast fraud underground industry" to comprehensively investigate and clean up relevant violations. Once found, the live broadcast authority will be withdrawn indefinitely and announced to the public. For anchors with serious violations or involving illegal and criminal acts, the platform will take the initiative to report the industry blacklist and the relevant information to the public security organs and other relevant departments.
