In the process of research and development, Angang Group has solved six technical problems such as carbon equivalent, yield-strength ratio and cracking resistance of ultra-high strength and ultra-low temperature ductile steel, and also met the cracking resistance requirements of minus 35 degrees (CTOD) put forward for the first time in the world.

The world's first new steel P690QL2 can meet the safe and stable operation of the cargo tank under high pressure, low temperature and inertia load, filling the international gap in the field of liquefied carbon dioxide storage materials and reaching the international leading level.

Han Peng, technical director of shipbuilding marine steel market of Angang Co., Ltd., said that the technical requirements of P690QL2 ultra-high strength and low temperature steel developed this time are extremely stringent, mainly reflected in the following three points: "first, the strength level reaches the highest grade 690MPa of the global shipbuilding marine steel standard; second, the low temperature toughness reaches the highest quality grade of the global shipbuilding marine steel standard-60 degrees Celsius." Third, the cracking resistance (CTOD performance) reaches-35 degrees Celsius, which is much lower than the existing international standards of-10 degrees Celsius. "
