The appointment letter indicates that the customer will purchase the sodium ion battery pack assembly from the company and require the company to start mass production by June 30, 2023.

According to Funeng Technology, sodium ion battery technology is the technical route of the company's newly put into production. Although the company has transformed part of the ternary battery capacity of Ganzhou factory into sodium battery capacity and has met the mass production conditions of sodium ion battery products, there are still risks less than expected in the subsequent process of further meeting customer requirements or industrialization.

In the future, the Company will strictly comply with the requirements of customers and complete the production preparation and delivery of new products within the specified time to cope with the above risks, so as to ensure that the project will start mass production before June 30, 2023.

According to CTOnews.com previously reported, Funeng Technology said on the interactive platform in December last year that the company's sodium ion battery products have been in the centralized sample delivery stage, with excellent product performance and obvious cost advantages, and have met the demand of A0-class vehicles at present. The company plans to fully enter the industrialization stage of sodium battery in 2023, and has carried out in-depth cooperation with a number of well-known two-wheeled vehicle enterprises and passenger car enterprises, aiming to meet the demand for A-class vehicles by 2024.

2023 may become the first year of mass production of sodium ion battery. At present, many enterprises such as Zhongke HaiNa, Chuanyi Technology, Penghui Energy, Funeng Technology and Huayang have announced that they will enter the industrialization stage in 2023.
