CTOnews.com, March 4 (Xinhua)-- Michael Abbott, Apple's vice president of cloud engineering, plans to leave in April, according to Mark Mark Gurman of Bloomberg. The position will be taken over by Jeff Robbin, a longtime vice president of engineering at Apple, known in the industry as the father of iTunes.

The report says Apple has spent heavily on internal cloud infrastructure under his leadership, but in order to cut investment, Apple has switched to servers hosted by Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud.

Peter Stern (Peter Stern), Apple's vice president of services for the entire iCloud, also left the company earlier this year.
