On March 3, TSMC's largest customer contributed NT $529.649 billion (CTOnews.com Note: currently about NT $119.171 billion) in revenue last year, an increase of NT $124.2 billion over the same period last year, an increase of more than 30%, accounting for about 23% of TSMC's total revenue.

According to the financial report of TSMC, the revenue contribution of "customer A", the largest customer, continues to increase. After exceeding NT $400 billion in 2021, it further exceeded NT $500 billion to NT $529.649 billion in 2022, but its share in TSMC's wafer foundry income declined last year, from 26% in the previous year to 23%.

Due to the substantial growth in demand for automotive electronics in 2022, TSMC's customer base has further expanded. The proportion of TSMC's "customer A" in total revenue has dropped from 26% to 23%, while that of the second largest customer, "customer B", has fallen below the 10% mark.

Legal person analysis, TSMC's biggest customer should be Apple, the second largest customer should be AMD. Apple continues to expand the use of self-designed chips, contributing to the revenue of chip contract manufacturer TSMC.

The legal person pointed out that due to the 74% increase in the performance of the automotive electronic platform last year, which is higher than the 59% of the high-performance computing platform and far higher than the 28% of the smartphone platform, it is the main reason for the decline in the revenue contribution of TSMC's top two customers.

Apple and TSMC have cooperated with TSMC in chip manufacturing for many years, and the initial production capacity of TSMC's advanced process technology has been left to Apple. It was previously reported that Apple had placed an order in December 2020 to estimate the full capacity at the initial stage of mass production of TSMC's 3nm process.
