Cat.1 technology can promote the deployment of large-scale Internet of things terminals and help terminal manufacturers easily upgrade from 2G and 3G networks to 4G with better manufacturing costs. This time, the industrial-quality Yanfei VN200 module has been released to bring optimized speed to the low and medium speed Internet of things and reduce battery power consumption, which can be expanded into scenarios such as smart meters, trackers, shared two wheels, security, universal payment and other positioning industries. Yanfei VN200 module uses Guanghetong's Cat.1 module reference design based on Ziguang Zhanrui 8850 platform to create a terminal to easily connect to the 4G network.

Yanfei VN200 module supports full-band LTE Cat.1 network, can provide maximum downlink rate 10.3Mbps and maximum uplink rate 5.1Mbps, and adopts 20.2mm*22.2mm*2.3mm size to meet the rate requirements of 80% of medium and low speed small Internet of things devices. In addition, thanks to the LTE Cat.1 network and Zhanrui 8850 chip, Yanfei VN200 module has better battery life than similar modules, with 2000mAh battery, it can support the terminal to work continuously for more than 500 days in low power mode. In terms of other functions, VN200 can flexibly choose to support GNSS, WiFi-Scan and other functions.

Yanfei VN200 also has built-in eSIM SDK independently developed by China Unicom Huasheng, which can help the terminal to complete the development adaptation through simple interface docking. At the same time, VN200 has built-in rich network protocols, integrated multiple common interfaces, and supports a variety of drivers and software functions (such as Windows / Android / Linux and other mainstream operating systems). At present, Yanfei VN200 module has been widely used in the outdoor camera of China Unicom's digital rural project.

CTOnews.com Note: in the 3GPP standard, Cat.1 uses dual-antenna design, which can not meet the module miniaturization requirements of many types of terminals, such as wearable devices, while the terminal capability level of single-antenna specification is limited to Cat.0, Cat.M1 (eMTC) and Cat.NB1 (NB-IoT). The highest 1Mbps transmission rate is difficult to meet the experience needs of most scenarios. Therefore, the industry urgently needs to develop a new single antenna standard with higher terminal capability level, and Cat.1bis arises at the historic moment. As the upgraded and evolved version of Cat.1, the Cat.1bis terminal uses a single antenna design, which is smaller than the Cat.1 terminal and is suitable for a wide range of application scenarios. At the same time, Cat.1bis further optimizes the algorithm and part of the technical performance.
