CTOnews.com March 1 news, AMD recently reduced the core frequency of the R9 7940HS processor that has not yet been released from 3 GHz to 2.8 GHz. Now, the nuclear frequency of the R9 7940H model without S has also dropped from 3 GHz to 2.8 GHz.

In addition to the R9 7940H (S), the kernel frequency of other 7040H (S) series processors has also decreased to varying degrees.

AMD announced the Ryzen 7040HS series processor at CES. This series of notebook processors use 4nm process, adopt 8-core Zen4 CPU and RDNA3 core display, initially released with up to 12CU 3.0GHz core display specification, and equipped with the latest Ryzen AI engine. AMD 7040 series notebooks support DDR5-5600 and LPDDR5x-7500.

AMD initially announced that the notebook equipped with the Ryzen 7040 HS processor will be available in March 2023, and no relevant models have been listed by manufacturers yet.

AMD Ryzen 7040H/ HS series model parameters are as follows:

R9 7940H / HS: 8 cores 16 threads up to 5.2GHz, 45/35W TDP

R7 7840H / HS: 8 cores 16 threads up to 5.1GHz, 45/35W TDP

R5 7640H / HS: 6 cores 12 threads up to 5.0GHz, 45/35W TDP
