Intel and PC industry partners including Tsinghua Tongfang and Acer jointly launched green commercial computer products, which integrated the new concept of high energy and low carbon into the four key links of the whole life cycle from PC definition design to recycling, bringing 14 breakthroughs and innovations.

As a huge productivity tool, commercial computers are helping the rapid development of the world, and social progress is inseparable from the huge productivity generated by these computer products. According to IDC, 130 million business computers were installed in China in 2022, 70 per cent of which were desktops. Due to the high integration of the motherboard, the miniaturized PCB area of the green commercial computer is 36% less than that of the ordinary ATX motherboard, and the way of separating the IO board is no longer adopted, thus reducing the use of cables. In terms of size, the green business computer is integrated in the 7L compact chassis, which can meet the performance and extended IO requirements of most desktop applications, reducing the use of materials than the traditional 15L tower chassis, and only four screws are needed to fix the motherboard, which optimizes the manufacturing process to the greatest extent.
In addition to innovations in product technology, green business computers also use green materials with low harmful and recyclable materials, single fan radiators, compact assembly chassis, efficient fan-free power supplies, reduced expansion of connecting wires and recyclable panels. Intel has customized a set of low-carbon software solution on green business computer products-Intel Green computer Software Control Center, in which users can set PC to low-carbon operation mode and know the power consumption of PC in real time.
Relevant data can also be collected to facilitate unified deployment and energy efficiency management by management units. The software also allows the computer to perceive the user's state and improve energy efficiency when using it, and when the user leaves, PC can enter the mode of lower power consumption in time to achieve energy saving and carbon reduction.
PCB board has always been one of the difficult problems in the recycling of electronic products. It usually consists of materials such as metal, resin and fiberglass. Looking at metal, resin and glass fiber alone, they are all good recycled materials, but because these materials were mixed at the beginning of the design, in the traditional recovery methods, only the recovery rate of metal components is high. in the non-metallic powder of waste circuit boards, it is difficult to separate resin from glass fiber. if it is abandoned directly for hundreds of years, it can not be degraded naturally, which will lead to the spread of toxic substances to the surrounding environment. The pollution caused is incalculable.
Therefore, Intel and PC industry chain efforts, agreed that green biodegradable PCB can help improve the recycling problem.
