CTOnews.com March 1, TechInsights (former Strategy Analytics) released a report today that Lenovo-Motorola Q4 global smartphone shipments fell 33% in 2022 compared with the same period last year.

The decline in Lenovo-Motorola wholesale revenue (down 21 per cent year-on-year) was smaller than the decline in shipments, due to an 18 per cent year-on-year increase in average wholesale prices, the report said. However, the manufacturer remained profitable in the quarter. America still accounts for the majority of Lenovo-Motorola, but Asia-Pacific and Western Europe have great potential.

Regionally, Lenovo-Motorola's market share is declining in all major regions except Western Europe, TechInsights said. The manufacturer successfully made it into the top 10 in three regions-Central Latin America, North America and Western Europe. Central and Latin America is by far the company's largest region. The second is North America. The Americas together accounted for a large part of the company's total shipments this quarter.

In terms of models, CTOnews.com learned from the TechInsights report that the Lenovo-Motorola G series contributed the majority of sales, followed by E and Edge series. TechInsights said Lenovo-Motorola needs to strengthen its 5G models in terms of shipments.
