CTOnews.com Google is rolling out some new customization options for Chromebooks and more ChromeOS devices. ChromeOS is developing a range of sunrise and sunset wallpapers as well as new video screensavers. ChromeOS sunrise and sunset wallpapers change their appearance to better suit the current time of day.

According to one report, at sunrise, users 'Chromebooks will display a softer, more pleasing wallpaper. At sunset, the wallpaper changes mood, indicating that the workday is coming to an end. ChromeOS is developing new wallpapers with four different designs to accommodate different times of day.

ChromeOS will schedule wallpaper changes based on the sunrise and sunset times of the user's location. As of now, it's unclear which Chrome OS wallpapers will be given the sunrise/sunset treatment, or whether Google plans to introduce this feature into a new set of wallpapers. Also, judging by the wallpaper and several "time of day" flags on the screensaver, it seems Google will offer screensavers that match ChromeOS.

Both flags simply mention that they will work on "supported devices," without mentioning supported Chromebook models. Chromebooks will also receive two new video-based screensavers. Simple MP4 video files will loop. The first video screensaver was called "New Mexico" and the other was called "Clouds."

All of these new sunrise and sunset wallpapers and new video screensavers for ChromeOS devices are expected to run in ChromeOS version 113 (CTOnews.com Note: Released the week of May 4).
