CTOnews.com March 1, the KDE project team today released version 5.27.2 of the desktop environment KDE Plasma. This update is only a week away from the previous version, but fixed a large number of problems reported by users.

KDE Plasma 5.27.2 maintenance updates focus on improving Plasma Wayland, fixing problems such as line artifacts around the panel caused by fractional scale; support for correct rendering of mouse cursors in XWayland.

Plasma 5.27.2 also fixed issues in Plasma Wayland where the mouse cursor briefly moved one pixel over the bottom and right edge of the screen, causing the screen edge to enable flickering of UI elements that hover, and problems such as the display when rendering Aurorae window decoration themes.

The update also fixed a KWin crash that occurred when playing videos and logging off accounts with the VLC Media player application. The Plasma Wayland session also fixed an issue where the desktop size was not calculated correctly. This problem can lead to visual and functional problems with various "pixel offsets" everywhere.

Plasma 5.27.2 also improved support for multiple displays; fixed crashes in the powerdevil daemon that broke power management; fixed crashes in system settings when applying or restoring screen arrangement changes; and fixed problems such as logging in to multi-screen arrangements consisting of screens from the same vendor.
