CTOnews.com March 1 news, TrendForce Group Consulting released a report today that spanning AI is the integration of AI technologies such as GAN, CLIP, Transformer, Diffusion and other algorithms, pre-training model, multi-mode, and so on. Data, computing power and algorithm are the three indispensable keys of deep ploughing generative AI.

The report points out that since generative AI requires a large amount of data for training, a large number of high-performance GPU must be used to shorten training. Take the GPT model behind ChatGPT as an example, its training parameters have soared from about 120 million in 2018 to nearly 180 billion in 2020.

CTOnews.com has reported that ChatGPT is a new chat robot model released by the artificial intelligence research laboratory OpenAI on November 30, 2022. This is an artificial intelligence-driven natural language processing tool designed to mimic human-like conversations based on user prompts.

TrendForce Jibang Consulting estimates that the demand for GPU is estimated to be about 20, 000, and 30, 000 will be seen for commercial use in the future (the calculation basis of this paper is mainly based on NVIDIA A100). The development of generative AI will become a trend, which will significantly increase the demand for GPU and benefit the relevant supply chain.

According to reports, one of the biggest beneficiaries is GPU chip leader NVIDIA, DGX A100, which can achieve 5 PetaFLOPS computing performance, is almost the first choice for large-scale data analysis and AI accelerated operation. In addition, there are AMD for MI100, MI200 and MI300 series chips.
