CTOnews.com March 1, Microsoft today announced the addition of iPhone support for Phone Link applications on the Win11 platform. After connecting PC and iPhone through the application, users can make and answer calls on the PC side, send and receive text messages, and view iPhone notifications directly on the PC.

At this stage, Phone Link applications only initially support iPhone, and the support for iMessage is relatively limited. Users can send and receive iMessages and SMS text messages through Phone Link, but group chat or sending photos and videos are not supported.

CTOnews.com learned from The Verge's Tom Warren report that Phone Link also lacks a complete message history of conversations, and all messages sent and received are shown as gray bubbles, meaning users can't distinguish between iMessage and SMS text messages.

Reminded by netizens, this function is currently limited to the preview version of the Win11 Dev channel.
