CTOnews.com, March 1 (Xinhua)-- Electric car maker Rivian Automotive said Tuesday it will recall 12716 vehicles to fix a faulty sensor in the front passenger seat, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The recall covers nearly 89 per cent of vehicles produced by the company as of the end of September last year, and the company later fixed the problem on subsequent SUV and trucks.

Rivian noted that no accidents or injuries related to the problem had been found and that fewer than 100 vehicles were expected to be affected by the problem. Still, the company was unable to determine which vehicles had sensor problems and had to recall all vehicles made before September last year.

Rivian2022's revenue in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year totaled $663 million, up sharply from a year earlier, according to financial data, driven by the company's delivery of 8054 cars, which still fell short of analysts' expectations.
