CTOnews.com, February 28, according to Taiwan's Economic Daily, Hon Hai electric vehicle partner Fisker announced that its electric model PEAR has received more than 5600 scheduled orders, and PEAR plans to build it at Hon Hai's electric vehicle factory in Ohio.

Henrik Fisker, chief executive of Fisker, said in a conference call on the results that PEAR's plan was progressing smoothly and had reached its goal of putting the PEAR prototype on the road by the end of last year.

The PEAR is the second electric car of Fisker. In November last year, Fisker began production of its first electric car, the Fisker Ocean, and produced it at a factory in Austria. Fisker said that the scheduled number of Ocean is about 65000, and 56 have been produced so far.

The PEAR can drive more than 300 miles (CTOnews.com note: about 482.8 kilometers). Fisker says it wants to build 250000 electric cars at Hon Hai's factory. In addition, Fisker expects to start production of the PEAR in the second half of 2024, starting at $29900 (currently about 208000 yuan).
