Today, OPPO officially presents the first self-developed terminal achievement based on zero-power communication technology-zero-power tag (OPPO Zero-Power Tag) on MWC 2023.

OPPO zero power tag can communicate with mobile phone, including object recognition, location and search, sensor data acquisition and transmission and other functions. It is unique in that it can realize the Internet of things application of communication between mobile phone and zero-power label without battery.

Specifically, OPPO zero-power tag uses three innovative technologies, such as radio frequency energy acquisition, backscattering and low-power computing, to drive the internal load circuit by collecting radio wave energy in space instead of battery.

The zero-power label is compact in shape and can be easily attached to the object surface to meet the communication needs of the Internet of things with ultra-low power consumption, very small size and very low cost.

OPPO zero power tag is also very convenient to use, first of all, you only need to attach it to the item, and then open the mobile phone software to match the tag with the item ID. When in use, the software identifies the tag, obtains the sensing information such as the location or temperature of the item, and realizes the functions of finding and locating, measuring temperature and so on.

OPPO is continuously promoting the standardization of terminal technology, network architecture and communication protocol design in the industry, laying the foundation for the commercial use of zero-power tags in the future B5G / 6G network construction.

Next-generation communication technology means faster, broader, and more pervasive smart connections. OPPO said that as a technical solution developed for the most prominent features of the Internet of things in the 6G era, the application of the "battery-free" zero-power label can reduce terminal maintenance costs and pollution hazards, whether in smart home scenarios for individual consumers or multiple scenarios such as logistics, warehouse, and environmental monitoring in vertical industries.
