Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen OC_Formula for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com, February 28, EUV lithography is a process full of complexity, uncertainty and imperfection. The market had previously reported that Intel was scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2024 to start its chip commission TSMC to 3 nm process OEM plans to postpone the first quarter, but Intel CEO Kissinger denied this rumor.

However, it seems that the first generation of Meteor Lake processors based on EUV lithography did run into some problems, with several previous revelations that the desktop version of the Meteor Lake processor had been cancelled and that only the mobile version remained.

According to the plan, the new generation of Meteor Lake processors will be the first processors based on Intel 4 (7nm) technology, and Intel 4 will be the first Intel manufacturing process to use EUV lithography.

Dylan Patel, an analyst at semiconductor analyst SemiAnalysis, said that while Intel said it was ready for EUV lithography of Intel4 nodes, according to internal information they received, Intel had postponed the "ready-to-ship" of Meteor Lake processors to at least 52 weeks of 2023 (December 18 to December 24).

CTOnews.com needs to be emphasized here. Kissinger said last week in response to rumors of an "3nm extension" that Intel's Granite Rapids and Sierra Forest processors and the 3nm process GPU tile, which is contracted by TSMC, are proceeding as planned. But he did not respond positively to Meteor Lake-related rumors.

According to previous revelations, Intel plans to release the 14th-generation Meteor Lake this year and the 15-generation Arrow Lake processor that will follow, using 3nm GPU tile manufactured by TSMC.
