CTOnews.com, February 28, Microsoft announced support for NXP's i.MX SoC in Windows 10 IoT Core in its latest support document. This addition supports i.MX 6, i.MX 7 and i.MX 8m SoC series of commercial chips, and open source BSP content.

NXP provides board support packs (BSP) for i.MX 6, i.MX 7, and i.MX 8m series SoC for commercial use.

With the highly optimized Windows 10 IoT Core version of BSP on the i.MX application platform, users can more easily build secure and scalable solutions from devices to the cloud.

In addition to the development boards designed by NXP, NXP hardware partners have implemented multiple i.MX6, i.MX7 and i.MX 8m single board computers and systems on modular solutions using open source licensed BSP.

Complete BSP content for the i.MX 6, i.MX 7, and i.MX 8m product families is now available to everyone, and the commercial i.MX 8m product family is supported for 10 years with the installation of Windows 10 IoT Core, which was released in October 2018.
