Today, Gale released a lightweight AR smart glasses reference design based on Qualcomm's first-generation Snapdragon AR2 platform. As far as CTOnews.com is aware, this is currently the only Snapdragon AR2 AR glasses reference design for production purposes, and supports Snapdragon Space platform.

Compared with the reference design of Qualcomm XR2 platform AR glasses released by Gore last year, the reference design is smaller and thinner, the frame thickness is reduced by 12.8%, the height of the leg is reduced by 30%, and the weight of the whole machine is reduced to less than 100g.

It is equipped with an upgraded free-form surface optical module, which increases the vertical visual field of the user by 50%. With 38 °display FOV, the visual experience is better. Its hinge adopts a new design scheme, and the mirror leg can be flexibly relocated after folding and unfolding, making it more comfortable to wear. It supports extreme speed Wi-Fi 7 connection and Qualcomm Snapdragon Space X developer platform.

According to reports, this lightweight AR glasses reference design is the third generation of AR glasses reference design developed by Gore and Qualcomm since 2015, dedicated to meeting the needs of enterprises and consumers in different product levels and segments, and helping terminal brand manufacturers to quickly develop lightweight AR smart glasses products with excellent production performance.
