So far, all 16 units of Baihetan Hydropower Station have passed the acceptance inspection.

Zhang Chengping, chief engineer of the mechanical and electrical specialty of the three Gorges Group, said that at present, 16 million kilowatt hydroelectric generating units of Baihetan Hydropower Station independently developed and installed in China operate stably, and their quality reaches the high-quality index, which is far better than the national and industry standards, and the performance of the unit is excellent, which indicates that China's hydropower design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning technology has successfully reached the top of the world's hydropower equipment "Everest".

Baihetan Hydropower Station, located in Ningnan County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province and Qiaojia County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, is the second of the four cascade power stations invested and built by the three Gorges Group in the lower reaches of the Jinsha River. A total of 16 million kilowatt hydrogenerator sets with the largest single unit capacity in the world have been installed in the power station, with a total installed capacity of 1600 million kilowatts.

Officials said that as of February 26, Baihetan Hydropower Station had generated 9 billion kilowatt hours of electricity this year, with a total of 64.65 billion kilowatt hours. Baihetan Hydropower Station is the second largest hydropower station in the world after the three Gorges Hydropower Station, with an average annual generating capacity of 62.443 billion kilowatt hours, which can meet the electricity needs of about 75 million people a year, and can replace about 19.68 million tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 52 million tons.
