CTOnews.com February 27 news, like most major browsers, Microsoft Edge browser also has its extension store, users can download a variety of extensions to expand the functionality of the browser. According to Microsoft, the Edge extension Store already has nearly 11000 extensions. How to make it easy for users to find good extensions is one of Microsoft's considerations, and they plan to achieve this goal through "extension tags."

In a recently published community article, Microsoft announced an upcoming experiment aimed at marking high-quality extensions with "badge".

Microsoft is not ready to promote badges around the world, and the company hopes to conduct small-scale experiments first. Microsoft also plans to work with the developer community to sort out the criteria for getting badges for a particular extension and to help developers familiarize themselves with the badge process.

CTOnews.com noted that Google launched a similar project on its Chrome online store a few months ago, and that the extension market now provides a "check tag" for verified developers (no charge of $8 per month for this), and a "feature" tag for extensions that follow the recommendations of the Chrome extension (see figure above).
