Yang Junwei, head of Meituan drone operations, said that its related approval work began as early as the beginning of 2021, during which the team initially completed the research and development of aircraft, automated airports and intelligent dispatching systems, of which more than 90% of the components were purely self-developed. Meituan UAV team also completed nearly 120,000 drone distribution tasks under supervision.

So far, the average order delivery time for drones is about 12 minutes, while according to CTOnews.com, the average delivery time for traditional delivery models is about 30 minutes.

According to reports, by the end of last year, the pilot route of Meituan drones in Shenzhen had landed in five business circles, covering 18 communities and office buildings, serving nearly 20,000 households, and distributing more than 20,000 kinds of goods. covering catering, make-up, fast consumption, Shang Chao, electronic products and other types.
