Peng Song pointed out that a new round of AI explosion is taking place. The prosperity and development of AI brings new benefits to operators and new requirements for ICT infrastructure. At the same time, larger bandwidth and stronger computing power will inevitably lead to rapid growth of network energy consumption. " Whether to be green or to develop seems to be a difficult choice for the ICT industry, but we think we should choose'no choice', both green and development, "Mr Peng said.

Peng Song believes that at present, by taking into account the three dimensions of energy efficiency, renewable energy efficiency, and user experience, we can gradually achieve the balance between green and development of ICT. At the MWC2023 exhibition, Huawei also launched solutions around these ideas to contribute to the green development of the ICT basic network.

Energy efficiency dimension: from focusing only on improving network energy efficiency to reducing absolute energy consumption at the same time. For low-load scenarios, using multi-dimensional turn-off technology can achieve intelligent turn-off not only through frequency domain and time domain, but also from various dimensions such as channel and power. For ultra-low load scenarios, the device "extreme dormancy" is realized, for example, the condensation and low temperature problems of AAU hardware during shutdown are solved by using new materials and new processes, leaving only the power module standby, so that the power consumption of AAU at very low load is reduced from 300W to less than 10W.

Renewable energy dimension: from focusing only on the scale of green power deployment to taking into account the efficiency of the use of renewable energy. In space, it is refined from one network, one policy to one station, so as to improve the accuracy of renewable energy deployment. In terms of time, the intelligent scheduling from sky level to minute level is realized to maximize the economic and green benefits of renewable energy. Through the perception of the weather, electricity price, battery status, traffic and other multi-dimensional information, the intelligent scheduling algorithm is used to achieve the optimal power generation efficiency, comprehensive power cost and load-based power availability of renewable energy in the whole station.

In the dimension of user experience: from focusing only on network energy saving and KPI guarantee, to giving consideration to user experience guarantee at the same time. Arrange the optimal energy-saving strategy according to different network scenarios: ensure the most basic network KPI to maximize energy saving in low-traffic scenarios; while ensure the user experience in high-traffic scenarios. Experience-driven upgrade to data-driven to achieve minute-level energy-saving strategy generation and millisecond optimization strategy distribution.

Peng Song stressed that Huawei continues to iterate green solutions based on the coexistence concept of the above three dimensions, and officially released Huawei's "Green 1-2-3" solution. "1" means a set of indicators for building a network around green development. "2" refers to both high energy efficiency and ultra-low energy consumption scenarios, and "3" is a three-tier systematic solution built from site, network and operation. Huawei is willing to work together with global operators to achieve a balance between green and development and speed up the green development process of ICT.
