CTOnews.com, February 27, according to the Taiwan Economic Daily, Intel CEO Kissinger pointed out at the company's capital expenditure update meeting that Intel and TSMC's 3nm outsourcing plan is going according to plan.

The market reported earlier that Intel was originally scheduled to start the third quarter of 2024 to postpone the plan of its chip commission, Taiwan SMC, to 3nm manufacturing process.

Kissinger pointed out at the meeting that the Intel Granite Rapids and Sierra Forest series processors and the 3nm process GPU tile contracted by TSMC are proceeding as planned.

Intel's planned release of the 14th-generation Meteor Lake this year and the 15-generation Arrow Lake processor to follow will use the 3nm GPU tile manufactured by TSMC.

CTOnews.com has reported that compared with the Intel 4 process, the Intel 3 process provides about 18% performance growth per watt, and production is expected to start gradually in the second half of this year. Kissinger mentioned earlier that Intel still maintains its goal of developing five process node technology within four years and hopes to continue to expand the customer base of IFS wafer foundry business.
