It is reported that Apex Mobile Heroes was launched in May 2022, and EA said it would end its operation on May 1, 2023. It has stopped buying the game in-house and removed the game from App Store. As for the reasons for the termination of development, EA and Respawn said that the game did not seem to live up to players' expectations.

According to Sensor Tower, "Apex Hero Mobile" has been installed 3700 times around the world since its launch, but it is far less than the competitive "call of Duty Mobile Game".

As far as CTOnews.com knows, EA announced the acquisition of Glu Games in 2021 and then moved into mobile, but its performance now appears to be much lower than expected.

Consumer spending on Glu's game lineup, such as MLB Tap Sports Baseball 2022 and Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, has fallen sharply, with net revenue of $11 million in the fourth quarter of last year, down 64 per cent from when Glu was acquired in the second quarter of 2021, according to Sensor Tower estimates.

According to Sensor Tower, since the launch of "Apex Hero Mobile", the mobile game has been installed 37 million times worldwide, with online revenue of only $37 million, and significantly lags behind the "call of Duty Mobile Game" and so on.

According to the data, bookings of Apex hero mobile games fell by 96 per cent nearly eight months after its launch, while call of Duty mobile games increased by 7 per cent over the same period.

Of course, EA always prides itself on developing and making excellent games, but it remains to be seen how we will deal with this mess in the future.
