Steve Jobs (Steve Jobs,1955, February 24-October 5, 2011) is an American inventor, entrepreneur, co-founder of Apple and former CEO of Apple.

Born in San Francisco, California, Jobs grew up in an adoptive family and was interested in electronics from an early age. He dropped out of college in 1974 for economic reasons and worked for Atari video game company. On April 1, 1976, Jobs co-founded Apple with Steve Wozniak and long Wayne, and launched Apple's first personal computer, the Apple I, in the same year.

In 1985, he left Apple because of a power struggle within the company and founded Pixar Animation Studio. Jobs returned to Apple in 1997 and launched the iMac the following year to steer Apple through the financial crisis.

Jobs resigned as chief executive of Apple's board of directors on August 24, 2011, and died of a neuroendocrine tumor of the pancreas on October 5, 2011 at the age of 56.
