CTOnews.com February 24, MediaTek announced that it will demonstrate the advanced technology of Tianji, Filogic, Genio, Kompanio and Pentonic, as well as a demonstration of 5G technology outside of mobile devices during MWC 2023. At the same time, MediaTek will also show off its satellite communications platform, as well as equipment driven by MediaTek technology and leading global brands from different fields. MediaTek will introduce 5G and satellite communications technology to a wider range of equipment.

Satellite communication, 5G, millimeter wave and other solutions

MediaTek's standards-based 3GPP 5G non-terrestrial network (CTOnews.com note: NTN,Non-terrestrial networks) solution provides two-way satellite communication support for devices such as smartphones. New devices using its non-terrestrial network (NTN) solution and next-generation NR-NTN technology will also be the first to appear.

MediaTek will demonstrate advanced access traffic orientation, handover and split technology (ATSSS). Recently, MediaTek and Deutsche Telekom used Tianji 9200 flagship chip to complete the proof of concept of ATSSS 3GPP Release 16 (R16) standard, the converged multi-access connection technology can enhance the seamless connection experience of users. As the first key use cases implemented in the lab, the ATSSS access traffic handoff feature enables handover between 5G mobile networks and Wi-Fi networks, helping to ensure stable voice and video call quality and providing users with an uninterrupted network connection experience. The solution is suitable for existing cellular access networks and Wi-Fi access points, making it easy to improve network performance and user experience in a cost-effective way.

MediaTek will work with Ericsson to demonstrate the use of 5G millimeter beam technology to improve connection performance and reliability. In addition, MediaTek will demonstrate the millimeter wave 5G UltraSave power-saving technology based on the German Technology 5G network simulation solution to improve the battery life performance of 5G devices in high-speed data transmission applications by optimizing hardware and software design.

Smartphones and tablets

During the exhibition, MediaTek will demonstrate the flagship experience brought about by the Tianji 9200 mobile platform, including MediaTek mobile hardware ray tracing technology, which brings amazing visual effects of mobile games; Intelligent Display Sync 3.0 variable refresh rate technology, which adjusts the screen refresh rate according to the game frame rate to create a smooth picture experience; and intelligent image semantic technology, which optimizes image quality through multi-person segmentation and multi-layer color management technology. At the same time, MediaTek will also show off its flagship smartphones vivo X90 and vivo X90 Pro, which are equipped with the Tianji 9200 mobile platform.

MediaTek will show mobile devices and tablets in the form of folding screens, including OPPO Find N2 Flip and Tecno PHANTOM V Fold folding screen phones with MediaTek Tianji 9000+, and one plus Pad and Lenovo Tab Extreme tablets with Tienji 9000.

In addition, MediaTek Tianji 7000 series mobile platform will be unveiled during MWC 2023, the first new platform Tianji 7200 has upgraded AI imaging function, game optimization technology and 5G connection speed. It adopts the second generation 4nm process of TSMC. The eight-core CPU architecture consists of two 2.8GHz Arm Cortex-A715 cores and six Cortex-A510 cores, integrated with Arm Mali-G610 GPU and energy-efficient AI processors. Tianji 7200 is equipped with 14-bit HDR-ISP image processor Imagiq 765. it supports 4K HDR video recording and can support up to 200 megapixel cameras. In addition, the Tianji 7200 integrates Sub-6GHz 5G modems with downlink rates up to 4.7Gbps and supports 5G dual carrier aggregation, 5G dual card dual standby and dual card VoNR.

MediaTek will also show Helio G36, a new member of the Helio family, designed for mobile devices in the mainstream market. The 8-core Arm Cortex-A53 CPU can reach 2.2GHz and support 90Hz refresh rate display to provide a fun gaming experience. In addition, the Helio G36 supports 5000 megapixel cameras with AI- camera enhancements.

Connection and home network technology

The MediaTek Filogic series provides a stable and long-lasting wireless connection experience for residential gateways, Mesh routers, smart TVs, streaming media devices, smartphones, tablets, laptops and other terminal products. MediaTek's Wi-Fi 7hand 6e / 6 Filogic solution will showcase the complete device ecosystem built by MediaTek.

Internet of things, Chromebook and Smart TV

MediaTek Genio Smart Internet of things platform covers high-end, mid-range and entry-level chipsets, which are widely used in smart homes and smart environment devices. The Kompanio mobile computing platform provides high performance and long battery life for Chromebook with different market positioning. MediaTek's Pentonic intelligent TV platform integrates advanced display, audio, artificial intelligence, broadcasting and connection technologies. MediaTek will present technical demonstrations and equipment related to Genio, Kompanio and Pentonic during MWC 2023.

MediaTek will present the above technical demonstration and equipment at MWC 2023 from February 27 to March 2, 2023. Participants can visit booth 3D10 in Hall 3.
