As for the popularity of ChatGPT, Zhou Hongyi stressed that we should not just focus on OpenAI, ignoring the huge role played by Microsoft, which makes up a series of important capabilities of OpenAI in computing power, data capture, engineering product experience, as well as commercialization, scene exploration, and so on.

Zhou Hongyi summed up the success of ChatGPT into five points, namely, openness, the spirit of long-term doctrine, the intervention of industrial companies, and user traffic feedback. The industry-university-research cooperation model of OpenAI and Microsoft provides a successful model for the development of related technologies in China. He believes that China must catch up and focus on the "big four and one strong" in the technological dimension, namely, big model, big data, big arithmetic, big tagging, and strong algorithm. In the data dimension, we should vigorously develop five categories of data, including open source data, public data, private data, public data and crowdfunding data.

Based on the example of cooperation between OpenAI and Microsoft, Zhou Hongyi believes that the development of ChatGPT-related technologies in China should first achieve openness and data interconnection, and secondly, industry-university-research circles need to work together to avoid repeating the wheel, and once again need open source, using the open source community to concentrate on doing great things. Within two or three years, China is expected to achieve a good level of follow-up in ChatGPT-related technologies.

As for the development trend of ChatGPT, Zhou Hongyi believes that ChatGPT will produce autonomous consciousness sooner or later, and has the ability of self-evolution, which will bring the crisis of destruction to mankind. Of course, this premise is that human beings can achieve energy freedom, otherwise the problem of low energy efficiency will limit the development of artificial intelligence technology for a long time. Finally, Zhou Hongyi stressed that it is imperative for China to develop ChatGPT-related technologies, because non-development is the greatest insecurity.
